Tuesday in Boston !

What a great, long, packed day this was ! ! !  The tour bus picked us up in the Fantasy RV Tour campground about two miles from our hotel.  Left Mandy alone starting at 7:30, we didn't get back til about 6:30.  She did great.  So happy that she does good on the occasional times we leave her all day.

Long day getting into Boston with all the rush hour traffic.  Sure happy we were on the bus.  Went into the middle of the historical part of town including the "Big Dig" a tunnel that took years and billions of dollars to build. It's pretty cool since it is covered with gardens.  What a beautiful city Boston is.  Never have been to a city quite like it.  Tons of history and what we saw today centered a lot on Paul Revere.

This next picture is the Old North Church where the signal was given of one if by land and two if by sea. The old organ is up on the balcony.  The pews are shaped into booths with a door on it and were purchased and decorated by families so the more money, the closer to the front a family would be. Very interesting.

This is a sample of some of the streets.  Don't know how our tour bus driver did it but he went on some of the narrowest streets today.

As you would expect there are lots of sports in Boston.  Right near our hotel are Rodman Center and Gillette Stadium.  Our hotel is .8 miles from Gillette and sells parking for $40 on game day.  Oh my.  In downtown Boston is Fenway Field. Amazing that it is in such a crowded area of town. Some of the guys are going back on Thursday, which is a day off touring, and going to a game at Fenway !

This was a cool memorial to Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers.  In case you can't see it very well, it is made with dog tags.
We also visited the USS Constitution, also known as "Old Ironsides" in the Boston Tea Party area.  The ship is actually made from 23 inch thick wood wrapped in copper from Paul Revere's mill.  We were not able to tour as it would take too long to get all 40 people from the tour group through. The Charlestown Navy Yard is nearby.
This is the Massachusetts State House. The story goes that the gold was put on the dome when the roof was leaking.

Lunch was at Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market complex.  A very interesting place.  You walk in and there are restaurants on both sides of the isle and not your typical fast food.  Every type of cuisine is represented.  We shared a lobsta roll and then bacon wrapped scallops, yum yum ! !  Faneuil Hall is also called "The Cradle of Liberty" because it was the site of many fiery meeting from 1742 and throughout the Revolution.

We crossed the Charles River into Cambridge, home of both MIT and Harvard University. The greater Boston area is home to about 27 colleges and universities.  The road appears to go right through both the campuses.

We then traveled to both Lexington and then on to Concord. We saw so much that is hard to remember all the detail.  Would definitely like to come back and see more of Boston at a little slower pace.

This was a great day even though were are still dealing with RV issues.  Trying to figure out how we are paying the entire bill.  Still don't know if the warranty insurance is gonna cover anything.  Our contract states that we have to pay it all anyway and then, if they decide to cover it, they will then pay us.  Still sounding like we can pick it up on Thursday.  Will be sooooo nice to have our home back.
