Travel to Pickstown SD

Today was a six hour travel day in this South Dakota wind.  Remember there are lighted signs up on the highways that state if the lights are on, get off the highway.  Thank goodness it was not that bad but considering how it was blowing us around, wonder how bad it has to be to close the highways??  Don't want to be here to find out.  At least it is a warm wind ! ! !   LOL

This is the most beautiful state that we have traveled through so far.  Those rolling, green hills really get to you.  They go on and on and on.  Didn't realize how much farming is done in SD.  LOTS of corn, mile after mile of it.  Also a lot of grass, looks like for feeding the cows that we saw dotting the hillsides... Even the edge of the roads is mowed and then baled.  Think that they are planning for winter feeding...

We have stopped at at State Park on the Missouri River.  Beautiful park with lots of open space between camp loops.

Huge dam with power plant on the Missouri River.  It is Randall Creek Dam.

Heading into Iowa tomorrow with just a four hour travel day.
