News at last !

Certainly not the news we were hoping for or expecting.  The diagnosis today consists of a busted valve that crammed though the cylinder and out though the turbo.  The damage includes the turbo, injector and cylinder.  They are talking about a new short block, injectors, turbo, etc. to the tune of just about $20,000. The insurance company, because of the amount of damage, needs to do an inspection.  They won't guarantee that it will be done tomorrow, which is Friday. Hopefully the shop went ahead and ordered the parts so that work can start by Monday.  Who knows when everything will be done and if we can join the tour. AND, by the way, we just found out that we loose 25% of our tour price if we cancel so that is about ten days.  Trying to figure out if we can catch up and if we would really just miss too much.  Our cancellation insurance covers everything BUT mechanical breakdowns.  Amazing ! ! ! The tour happens to be camping this weekend in Wells, Massachusetts and we happen to have a Thousand Trails Park there that has cabins for rent, just two miles from the park they will be in.  We are changing our scenery and going to the coast tomorrow and coming back to this hotel on Monday.  NSCAR happens to be here this weekend so the whole town is booked up so it is a good time to leave.  Plus, we really want a Maine lobster dinner and we will get that at the coast!!   Should be able to have some great pictures next time I post.
