Next, we went into Portsmouth where we basically had time for lunch on the wharf. We then picked up a tour guide from the Chamber of Commerce in Portsmouth. She boarded the bus and was so good. Very old town with lots of brick. Learned that everyone rebuilt with brick after a devastating fire way back when everything was wooden. Amazing how this tour bus driver could navigate these narrow streets and all the construction and detours in town.
We went to Newcastle Island across the Piscataqua River where the properties start at about $800,000 even though the house may need tearing down. They have an old military prison that is no longer in use. Wonder if Ali Wentworth comes from the family that is very famous here on the island for all their money. Seems like money ruled this area in early days. Here are some of the abandoned lighthouses. The fog was really starting to move in quickly.
We then went to the Nubble lighthouse. The fog was settling in but Ken still got great pictures.
Our last stop was at When The Pigs Fly. It was an amazing artisan bakery with a ton of varieties of bread. Yummmm again!!
Today we also made the decision to go to Foxbough, near Boston Massachusetts tomorrow with the tour group. We were able to book a hotel only two miles from where Fantasy RV Tours will be. Also learned that Fantasy will give us the camping money toward our hotel if we do this. YEAH, something going our way. This means that we will have two days of touring Boston, Tuesday and Wednesday. We will then head back to Warner, NH to hopefully pick up the RV on Thursday and then go back to where the tour is camping ! ! ! Perfect since Thursday is a free day. Hopefully, all will be back on schedule Thursday. Only ten days of confusion. LOL
On to Monday !!
