Denali ! ! !

Finally at Denali ! !  The drive was more spectacular scenery...

So excited to get here, however, left the sunshine in Anchorage and rain greeted us about an hour out of town. Woke up this morning, July 21, to pouring rain, also rained all night.  This is our bus tour day into Denali National Park.  Worried about not having the sun out buuuuuut, it was a great wildlife viewing day but not so great for seeing the mountain we now call just Denali ~. The mountain was totally encased in fog and clouds. Darn. We did see at least four sightings of moose, three different grizzlies (one with her twins), Doll sheep, a bunny rabbit and caribou, aka Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer ! !  Some of the roads were a little hairy, couldn't always watch as the drop off the side of the road was VERY steep...  LOL.. We went in over 60 miles on an old, retired school bus for about 6-7 hours total.  That was plenty long enough on that bus. Thought we might catch the free shuttle and go back on our free day, but no, enough is enough... The wildlife and scenery were great! ! and I am sure we will see the mountain before we are out of sight of it ! !

See the babies below??  They played and played following mom around the shrubbery....

Tonight, July 22nd we went to the Cabin Nite Dinner Theater..  What a fun night. Dinner is served family style and is all you can eat.  There were ribs, salmon, corn, beans, biscuits, salad and mixed berry cobbler.  Very yummy ! !  During dinner there was singing and piano playing and soon as we finished the theater started.  It was a story about coming to Denali and staying..  Bob got to be a character in the play....  so fun
