Wedding time!!!

Flew into Redmond from Orlando, Florida yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, November 12, 2014. We went first into Atlanta, then Portland and then on to Redmond where Ken's sister, Pat, picked us up.  Had to get up at 4:00am eastern time to get to the airport on time soooooooooooo, yesterday was a very long day ! ! !   So nice to be able to give hugs to most of the family. 

Woke up to this view ! !   Kristina is soooooooooo excited.  She really wanted a white wedding.  It is beautiful.  We are right across from Corey and Angela's camper.

Today, Thursday, we start the set up in the lodge and work all through Friday. Lots of work to do to transform it into the beautiful winter wonderland that Kristina and Chris want.

Sure hope that the roads clear so that all the guests can come on Saturday. It will really all come together.  Melissa from Montana and Whitney from Australia came in Thursday night. Got through the pass fine from their families in Salem. So happy that they can be here for Kristina.  They have been friends since way back, I think elementary school. Lots of food prep and flowers, steaming the linens and getting the tables set.  Rehearsal dinner Friday night too! ! ! Christina, the hair dresser, will be coming from Salem Friday.  Hopefully Dianne doesn't have any problems either coming from Salem with Kenny and Alyssa. Haven't seen them for three months either. Can't wait to catch up with them. 

Lots to get done with a dinner tonight and then sit down dinner tomorrow.  This is gonna be so fun !

Planning, planning, constant planning, however the lists and diagrams are a fantastic help !!  Karen and Kristina are so very organized and have terrific vision.  I can't seem to get all my pictures in the order that I want them so lighting pictures are all mixed in with others ! !

 Casey built this arbor for the kids to have in their garden at home after the wedding.  It is beautiful !  !  He does great work !!

Steaming linens took about a full day. They took a lot of work.  Whitney and Melissa really were sooooo so good and there were so many linens. They really took charge and recruited many others to help.

Time for us to head back to Florida.  Will miss the family ! !   BUT, was great to see everyone.  Sure missed Gary and his fam tho.  

Mandy was so excited to see Ken after eight days in the kennel.  Now we are all settled back into the RV after a great visit back in Oregon.

Farewell Breakfast

Bittersweet farewell breakfast with the Fantasy RV Tour group..  Hopefully we will see many of our new friends in the future. 

We have arrived at the Thousand Trails park in Wachula, Florida, Peace River, for eleven days of R & R.  Then to Orlando where, hopefully, we can leave the RV hooked up to electric while we fly back to Oregon for Kristina and Chris's wedding ! ! !

Cape Kennedy and the Space Center

OMG for a last tour travel day, this one was another amazing one! ! !  We were taken on a bus tour over a very small part of the 140,000 acres that comprise the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Station.  Early in the space program we always watched every launch on the television.  You cannot imagine how big everything really is, the TV just doesn't do any of it justice.  This place was chosen for this site for it's proximity to the equator and how that helps in the launch.

These two gravel lanes are Alabama river rock because it doesn't crush or spark.  The two lanes equal an eight lane highway.  That is how huge the Crawler is that takes the shuttle out to the launch pad.

This eagle's nest has been on the property for 48 years with only two pairs as eagles mate for life.

Lots of water around with many birds.  Also today we saw our first "wild" alligators in water like this.  Couldn't get pictures as the bus was moving too fast.

 The Atlantis can carry an awful lot of stuff up to the space station.  Watched a movie with actual footage, amazing!!

This was a most amazing day and perfect for the last day of our tour.  Went to dinner at Martini's Chophouse and had a great salmon dinner.  Tomorrow is our good bye breakfast and then off on our own.  We have made many new friends and hope to keep in touch with a lot of people.  We will be off to a Thousand Trails park in Wauchula, Florida about 132 miles southeast from here.  First time in 40 days to be able to sleep in, be on our own schedule and not be moving every few days.  A week will feel good to us!!
