WOW, our time in the warm weather is about to end ! ! LOL... We left Mesa, AZ and all our new friends, Wagon Masters and Tail Gunners for Fantasy RV Tours, and headed to Corey and Angela's. On the way, we stopped at one of our favorite parks, the Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield. Made for a very long birthday day of travel, about 11 hours. Left overs for birthday dinner tasted really good since I didn't have to cook. LOL Then we got to Corey and Angela's after a reasonable six hour travel day... LOL. Was so much better. They treated me to a pedi for my birthday, that was fun and then on Sunday Ed and Kathy came over for birthday dinner which Angela fixed, scallops !! Very yummy ! ! Spent the weekend at Corey's and left on Monday for Suisun City where Tim and Linda Hobson live. We made friends with them on our Alaska tour last summer. Turns out that Tim and I went to highschool together in Lakeside, CA. Didn't know each other then, he was a senior when I was a freshman. Had a great time with them. Went to their favorite Mexican restaurant and then toured the Jelly Belly factory very near their house. What a fun tour ! !
Tim bbq'd a delicious tri-tip, was a great dinner. Left the next morning and got to the Elk's Club in Redding, CA. Love that place. They have learned how to keep their lodge busy by involving a much younger crowd. They do some kind of food event almost every night. Lucky for us, they had food the night we stopped.
4/19/17 off to Valley of the Rogue to visit with Camp Host friends, Dee and Ray Skiles. Going by Shasta Lake was so nice to see how full it is. Probably the most water that we have seen in about 30 years.
Great sitting with Ray and Dee and sharing our chicken taco soup. We will leave for the Cummins NW RV shop in Coburg tomorrow morning. Hoping that our insurance will cover the long list of to do's we have. Loved that Chris and Kristina stayed at our house most of the time we have been gone. Their house sold in a cash deal in just about four days and they are waiting for the new house to close in early May. So happy for them.
Home all safe and sound, now to get ready for Alaska again. Lots of shopping and organizing to get done but so excited about leading this group.
